Steth Man
Steth man lives in a tree
On a ward
For the elderly
Everyday he goes wandering about
Listening closely
To murmers and shouts
Till one day
It seemed he was broken
Left on the side
And eventually stolen
Lying next to grandpa’s sweater
A little girl took him
Knowing no better
She took him home
And play with him she did
Hide and seek, boomerangs
Exploring off the grid
Grandpa wasn’t well
His days came to a close
The girl felt a sadness
Like nobody’s knows
Steth man was sad
So he gave her hug
“Please don’t feel bad
Be happy For the life
For the life that he’d had
That’s all you can do
Be happy for times
The Times spent with you”
The girl cried till the very last drop
But Steth man was right
Life doesn’t stop
The years went by
Steth man stayed by her side
She lost herself in books
But the sadness never hides
Study hard she did
She never gave up
She worked so hard
Till the sun came up
School, university and a degree
She was back working on the wards
For the elderly
To this day steth man
doesn’t stray far
Helping her listen
To echos of grandpa
